Stunning Ewer by Royal Worcester Porcelain Aquamarine Colored Jug / Ewer with Antler Handle ~ Dating 1886-1887

This is a awesome antique piece of porcelain. Royal Worcester has been in business since 1751 and you can truly tell they have perfected their art. This piece has a base of ridges and columns painted in roman coin gold. It also has a handle that depicts an antler. Parts of the handle are rough like old growth would be and the parts that connect to the ewer part are smooth like the new growth of the horn. The gold on the base and handle has turned a beautiful red patina in places. I’m not sure if this is from wear or age but I think it adds a beautiful touch to this old piece. The pitcher portion is painted a wonderful aquamarine color and has outlines of chrysanthemums, in different stages of growth, with have been filled in with a golden brown color. There are no chips, hairlines or cracks; manufacturing anomalies do exist, the occasional tiny iron speck, dust 'bump' in the glaze, etc. This is a beautiful and unusual piece and would make a great gift for that special person.

Backstamp: Royal Worcester Crown and mark Y ~ rn# 37112 ~ 1116 under glaze

Measures: 9 ½” H x 6.5” W handle to spout.
