SALE Very Unusual 1960s Butterfly Brooch

Dating from the 1960s this very unusual butterfly brooch is enameled in teal and black with a bright gold-tone setting with a slight matte finish, what makes this piece so unique is the surface of the gold-tone setting has drops of molten metal applied to the surface which are much shinier than the matte surface (in ceramics this style is called “Weeping Gold”) and the enameling applied over the surface and drops, this achieves a very interesting look. It measures 3 by 2 inches and has a nice dimensional design, the body is enameled black and set with teal colored rhinestones, amazingly it is not signed but well made and in great condition with a couple slight signs of age to the back of the piece, the front shows no signs of age or wear. For collectors of butterfly jewelry this will be a welcome addition to any collection.
