Your patience is requested as my job keeps me overseas half the month
This c. 1920s divided bowl measures approx. 10 3/4" in circumference. There's a colorful orangey-red rim, with two holes at either side, to which rattan carrying handles would originally have been attached. Signed with the Moriyama Mori-Machi logo and imprinted with the words "Hand Painted Japan" on the bottom. Marks on rim on underside are merely discoloration as opposed to indicating wear.
This one's basically in extremely good shape. Only signs of age-appropriate wear are a tiny round chip on the gold rim at the bottom of the lady's dress, a little to the right. (Please see fourth photo.) Additionally, there is some fairly negligible wear to the yellowy-beige paint that decorates the outlines of the design at various points. Nothing overly distracting, and in wonderful vintage condition otherwise.
I would like to thank again thank a far more knowledgeable seller than I for pointing me in the right direction in discovering more about this history of this piece.
