Stunning seascape by listed artist Beverly Fredericks (1928-2007)! This piece entitled "Departure" is a wonderful example of this artist's work. It is an oil on canvas seascape signed and dated '80 by the artist in the lower left corner. Beverly was a renowned artist, painter, sculptor and art restorer. Her art expresses the relationship of light and nature and reflects the styles of the impressionist and tonalist painters. She had a keen interest in landscapes and seascapes in which she depicted the dynamic relations of the elements and moods associated with them.

Her paintings can be found in many important public and private collections, including the Bank of America, National Burn Center at the University of Texas, Hallmark Circuits, Colorado Springs Medical Center, the art collections of Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Welk, Mrs. Francis X. Bushman, Mr. Calvin J. Goodman and the late Roy Lund Hanson. She was a Fellow of the American Institute of Fine Arts. In addition, her work has been the subject of major articles in American Artist.

Fredericks studied with many prominent artists: Boardman Robinson, Vaclav Vytlacil, Emerson Woelffer, Archie Musick, Paul Greenlee and Lucille Brown Greene. She lived and worked in Southern California and exhibited her work widely throughout the West, in galleries in Los Angeles, Colorado Springs, Denver, San Diego, Corona Del Mar, Riverside, Pasadena, Beverly Hills, San Marino, Westlake Village and the Mojave Desert region. She is listed in Who's Who in American Art, and recently Who's Who in American Women.
