Antique American oak wall Regulator, Completely restored. This School House Regulator was made by Elias Ingraham in Bristol Conn. Near mint condition, The model is "Bristol 12". Circa 1900. Size: 25 1/2" x 17 1/2" 4 1/2". The dial is 11" diameter from minute track to minute track, 12" overall. The solid oak case has the simple design of the American Arts and Crafts period. The case was professionally refinished, rubbed out between coats and then three layers of cabinet wax applied. The oak grain is exceptional. Clock case is a light brown color, the finish is between satin and semi gloss. It is not shiny, just a nice warm glow. The original paper dial could not be saved it was too far gone. The dial on the clock has been custom made, aged to match exactly and then sealed. The replacement of the original paper dial is the only thing that keeps this clock from being 100% original. All brass has been polished and sealed. The signed movement is original to the case. Both upper and lower glasses are original as well as the pendulum, hands, and marked Ingraham key. This key has a crack in the shank so another key will be supplied for winding the clock. An exceptional label is on the back. The original pendulum is the ornate cast pendulum that Ingraham exclusively used. See photo of what a properly restored clock movement should look like.

A SIDE NOTE: Saying the restoration work was performed and actually performing the restoration work by a knowledgeable clock maker are two different issues. I was professionally trained as clock maker over 35 years ago and sell only 100% Legitimate Antique Clocks in Mint to Excellent Restored condition. There is over two days of work and $500 in labor to restore this clock.

This clock movement like all of my other quality clocks was professionally rebuilt; disassembled and Ultra-Sonically cleaned, all pivots resurfaced and polished as was the verge, two new bronze bushings were installed in the worn pivot holes, one new suspension spring or feather. This is a strong running clock with exceptional pendulum amplitude. Runs accurately for 7 days. An excellent American clock at a reasonable price.
