Nineteenth Century Tin "EAGLE" Cookie Cutter

Naive in design and humble in origin, tin cookie cutters were often constructed from scraps left over after traveling tinsmiths finished their hired work. Some were even made from the flattened remnants of tin canisters. Most tin examples available today are from the 19th and 20th centuries. This fabulous tin "Eagle" cookie cutter, circa 1870 - 1890, is the ultimate in craftsmanship and design subject matter. Super detailing from the half-raised wings, feet and profile of head with signature curved beak. The edge is folded over on one side for safety with the sharper edge for cutting on the other. Measuring 2 3/4" wide and 2 1/2" tall with a thickness of 3/4". The condition is all original with no repairs, nice patina and only very minor rust spots. The best example I have ever seen.
