Vintage Deco Design Beaded Evening Purse

Elegant purses from the early 1800's have been decorated with small colored beads, cut steel beads or created from woven mesh, chain-link mesh and enamel mesh. This wonderful deco purse, circa 1920's, is completely covered with colored beads of dark iridescent blue, silver and gold. The silver-tone frame has an embossed design of geometric shapes, flowers and leaves and a chain link strap. The interior has the original cloth lining with separate compartment for special items. The border is composed of soft pink and blue stitched floral rosettes. The frame and chain retains a nice patina. The bead-work and over-all condition of the purse is very good. It measures 8 1/2" long and 7 1/2" in width.
