What a wonderful little gem! This lovely cylindrical form has marvelous deep red and tan arches capped by brilliant ivory. The pinched neck is topped by a wide rim, outlined with stunning ox-blood red, leading into the tapered throat, sporting a shimmering pink to gold Favrile finish. This is one of the last pieces to be personally executed by Steven Lundberg. Steven passed away recently from ALS (Lou Gehrig's Disease). During most of 2002 he was still creating his masterpieces totally by his own hand; Toward the end of 2002 and into 2003 he was working jointly with
his son Justin, and they made many collaborative pieces.
Steven's work is featured in many museums, and sought after around the world. What a shame that ALS (Lou Gehrig's Disease) has robbed the world of his great art glass genius.
Steve's work is on display in a number of permanent collections including The Smithsonian Institute, the White House, The Corning Museum of Glass, the Philadelphia Museum, the Art Institute of Chicago, The Museum of American Glass, and the Bergstrom-Mahler Museum, to name a few. Steven Lundberg Glass Art is exhibited in top galleries and catalogs throughout the world. Steve has lectured and demonstrated from New Jersey to Tokyo and has been privileged to collaborate with many distinguished glass artists, including Rick Ayotte, Bob Banford, Randall Grubb, Barry Sautner and Victor Trabucco.
This vase is in Excellent Condition. It stands 4.75 inches tall, and is 2 inches wide. It comes with two authentications, both signed by Steven Lundberg himself.
Signed "S. Lundberg Glass Art 2002". Impossible to photograph!.
