Art Nouveau Pedestal Tray w/ Bronze Cockatoos

A delightful bronze and brass tray from Europe featuring a pair of Cockatoos caught in a balancing act, for when the tray is moved they both see-saw in playful abandon. The Cockatoos are cold painted, highly detailed and are most likely Vienna bronze, while the tray and pedestal are brass. The top portion is open and may have held an epergne flute in the past but nowadays a small candle would fit quite nicely. The entire piece measures 7 1/8" tall and about 6.5" wide. It is in good condition with some tarnishing noted inside the top piece. Unmarked. Would make a fantastic centerpiece or entryway holder for candy, cards or keys. A most endearing piece of the past, you'll be charmed, we're sure!
